Forever a Foster Dog
This cute boy is Peter.  He, like many of our Heavenly Hearts Rescue dogs, came to us for a second chance. But Peter stayed with us until he passed away because we were unable to adopt him out to a new forever home.  We call dogs like this our "Forever Fosters."  

We give them love, show them kindness, and provide them with whatever they need in their final days, weeks, or years. These dogs bring in no adoption fees, but often accrue large veterinarian bills.

Oliver sat in a shelter, overlooked and sad.  He weighed only eight pounds and his coat was in terrible shape when we rescued him.  Oliver has only one eye, and suffers from a thyroid problem that will be with him for life.  Oliver trusts his foster mom, and relishes her attention and gentle touch, but he is suspicious and afraid of others. To avoid causing Oliver any further stress, he will stay with us as our forever foster.
