UPDATE 8/15:
Please Help Noel Live!
Noel is in need of urgent medical care, it is truly life or death for her. After much blood work our vet suspects a liver shunt. Sadly, our clinic has done all it can and Noel needs to be seen at the UW-Madison’s Veterinary School for further diagnostic testing. The tests will be approximately $300 to $400, and if she does have a liver shunt, and if it is operable, surgery could cost approximately $3000.  When we take in a foster dog we accept the responsibility to do everything possible to give them a second chance at a happy and healthy life, and our commitment is no less even when such a financial hurdle looms.

Please, please help Noel get the testing and care she needs and check our website often for updates on her condition.  To donate now, click on our “Make a Donation” link on this page.  If you prefer not to donate online, please email
HeavenlyHearts@wi.rr.com for information on how to mail in a donation.  N
o amount is too small!  Every penny will go to Noel’s care.  For more about Noel, click here => Noel!

Featured Dog:  Sierra!
Sierra is a 10-month old terrier mix weighing only 16 lbs.  She is an eternal optimist, always wanting to play or just wag her tail to say hi. Her sunny disposition combined with her terrier smarts make her always willing to try and learn. She would be a great canidate for agility because she is so smart, active, and physically talented. She definitely needs an active home that will challenge her mentally and physically.

She is a hard coated terrier which means she is easy to keep clean. She loves to play with stuffies and tennis balls, even bringing them back most of the time! Her fun spunky outlook on life could brighten up your life and put a smile on your face.  Are you looking for the light of your life?  Click here => Sierra!

Interested in adopting?

Please keep in mind that application approval is possible only if:
1. You are at least 21 years old.
2.  Your current pets are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested annually, and on monthy heartworm preventive.  (We check vet references.)
3.  You are willing to have a home visit prior to adoption, and follow up as needed.
4.  You own your home.  We may make a rare exception for renters who can show a positive and stable rental history, provide written landlord approval, and have an outstanding veterinary reference for current and/or past pets.

Here is the adoption procedure:

1.  Submit an application (see link on this page).  If you have questions you'd like answered before you apply, please email us at heavenlyhearts@wi.rr.com.  While we are very happy to answer questions about our dogs at any time, we can only schedule visits with approved applicants.

2. A volunteer will review your application shortly after we receive it.  We call your references, including your veterinarian.

3.  The foster home will contact you to talk about your application and the dog and to answer any questions you may have.  Heavenly Hearts Rescue is an all volunteer rescue group.  Our goal is to reply to each applicant promptly, but there are times when our volunteers are busy with home, families, fosters and jobs.  We appreciate your patience and understanding.

4.  Once the references are checked, a visit with the dog can be arranged.  We do require that all family members (including your current dog if you have one) meet the foster dog during the visit.

5.  Is it a match? If all goes well, and the foster home and applicant agree this is a great match, arrangements can be made to finalize the adoption.  This includes signing the adoption contract and paying the adoption fee.

Thank you again for your interest in a rescue dog!
